The
program for the church expansion called for the renovation of their
existing 5,000 square foot facility and the addition of a 400-seat
sanctuary, narthex, and support offices. The solution was to provide
a 3-tiered space designed around 3 major clearspan trusses that
culminated in a triangular steeple above the chancel area. The dropping
of the roof lines to the East provides morning light to the sanctuary,
and a band of windows to the West provide wonderful views of the
mountains. The metal roofs, stucco and brick were selected for their
low maintenance exterior while the interior spaces were simple and
cost efficient.
